I am fascinated by the emergence of complex structures and shapes in nature, often due to simple underlying rules. In particular, I am interested in shaping-mechanisms that have geometrical origins.
My research combines developing and studying biomimetic shape-morphing structures (ranging from mere pre-strained rubber sheets to 4D printed responsive hydrogels) and expanding our geometrical framework.
